Hello everyone,

Many of you know me, and some of you may not. For those who don’t, I go by JC these days, and I’ve lived in Midway for over a decade with my wife and two daughters. We love it here.

I grew up in a small town in Central Utah, the youngest of seven siblings. We lived a simple life. Both my parents worked for the school district for many years—my dad in maintenance and my mom in the lunchroom. We had what we needed, and life was good in our rural town.

When I grew up and went in search of my own paycheck, I went to school and became a software engineer, which led to a job in the “big city.” I’ve enjoyed that career because I get to build things and solve challenging puzzles. I can’t complain.

My wife is also from a small town, and we both agreed we’d rather return to one as soon as possible—which is what brought us to Midway. I know Midway’s picturesque and peaceful rural environment is loved by generations of locals, and it has drawn many newcomers like me. That’s one thing we all agree on.

Unfortunately, this presents a challenge as Midway grows. Growth is inevitable—we all know that. But the question that’s on my mind, and on the minds of many others, is this:

What can we do?
