My 8 years on the City Council have given me understanding for where we’ve been and where we need to go.
Open Space
• Preserve historical and rural character.
• Support local agriculture however we can.
• I will continue to lead and support efforts in prioritizing open land protection.
Housing
• Affordable housing is a widespread issue.
• Simply building more is not a permanent solution.
• Deed-restricted housing and offering an equity/ownership component is crucial
Sewer & Infrastructure
• Continue to meet health standards.
• Sewer planning is needed but challenging.
• Multiple stakeholders, multiple impacts to consider.
Zoning & Density
• Explore more opportunities to encourage reduced density.
• Provide options for “earning back” density through community benefits such as affordable, deed-restricted housing.
Taxes & Government
• Keep taxes low.
• Maintain unique community priorities (e.g., RAP tax).
• Maintain small government—efficiency.
Revenue & Economy
• Resort tax revenue: just enough beds to qualify.
• Support resorts while maintaining balance.
Short-Term Rentals (Airbnb)
• Limit VRBO to specific areas (TROD) and don't expand any more.
• Manage impacts of problem cases, possible loss of privilege.
Parking & Roads
• More work to address parking challenges in a fair way.
• Continue actively addressing road and trail needs.
